Maintenance

The beauty of concrete is that
it needs little or no maintenance.
A well-placed concrete sidewalk
or patio will last for decades with
little or no noticeable wear.

However, since most of our
customers choose to add color
and special finishes to their
decorative concrete projects,
it is important to protect the
surface and keep the color true
with periodic resealing.

Maintenance recommendations from Artistry in Concrete:

  • For all exterior stamped, stained or colored concrete applications, resealing is recommended annually or at a minimum of every two years.
  • For exterior decorative concrete finishes, only rubber or plastic edged shovels are recommenced for snow removal. In addition, the use of calcium chloride (not salt) is recommended.
  • Exterior concrete countertops (ie, an outdoor kitchen) will carry the same resealing recommendation of every one to two years
  • Interior floors can be buffed as necessary depending on traffic and wear.
  • Interior concrete countertops may need re-waxing every two or three years.
  • All concrete surfaces can be cleaned with mild detergents / soap and water; abrasive brushes or cleaning tools are not recommended as they can negatively affect the concrete finish

Artistry in Concrete is glad to offer Maintenance Contracts to help our customers keep their concrete projects beautiful for years of enjoyment.  Please see our pricing page for details or contact us at (585) 509-1895.
